On July 19, local time, Germany's BASF announced that it has made a final investment decision to fully advance its integrated base project in Zhanjiang City, Guangdong Province, China.
It is reported that BASF will invest 10 billion euros to promote the phased construction of the Zhanjiang integrated base. The next step will be to build a steam cracking unit and multiple downstream units. It is planned that the base will be completed and put into operation in 2030.
At that time, the Zhanjiang integrated base will become the third largest integrated production base of BASF in the world, second only to the German Ludwigshafen and Belgium Antwerp bases.
